September 24, 2024 – Burnaby, BC – The Greater Vancouver Food Bank (GVFB) is thrilled to introduce our new merchandise collection! Now available through the GVFB online store, these designs blend comfort with impact. Featuring women’s sizing and ultra-cozy unisex sweaters, the collection introduces fresh color options designed to suit every style.

The GVFB’s merchandise collection isn’t just about looking good – it’s about doing good. Every item purchased supports a bigger mission: providing healthy food to those in need. Every piece was thoughtfully designed to help create awareness around food insecurity, which 1 in 4 Canadians are currently experiencing. Representing the GVFB by wearing our merchandise is just one of the many ways to get involved in your community and make a positive and lasting impact.

Some of Vancouver’s local celebrities, David Suzuki, Andrea Brooks and Sarah McLachlan, have joined the campaign to support the GVFB’s mission, modeling the new merchandise collection on social media.  Their outfits remind us that clothing can be a conversation starter, drawing attention to the pressing issue of food insecurity and encouraging community action.

By purchasing a shirt, sweater or hat is made, you are directly supporting those experiencing food insecurity in our community. Thanks to the GVFB’s buying power, every dollar of profit can be stretched, often doubled the value or in some cases, buying 10:1 in farm fresh produce. Just one T–shirt can help us provide over 70 lbs. of apples for our clients.

“I love this new clothing line. We wanted to create something people would love to wear that also reflects our mission. From the farmers we work with to our dedicated volunteers, running a food bank takes a lot more than just food. This new merch looks great, shares that message, and helps get food into the hands of people in need.” – David Long, CEO of the Greater Vancouver Food Bank.

Together we can change the narrative, one wear at a time. The new GVFB merchandise collection is available now. Shop the collection today: https://shop.foodbank.bc.ca/.
