Vancouver, BC – The Greater Vancouver Food Bank will be hosting its fourth annual Citywide FUND Drive on September 15th 30th, and is calling on the public for their support.
In the days leading up, BC Thanksgiving Food Drive volunteers will place door hangers on doors across Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster and the North Shore. The public is asked to donate funds directly to the GVFB by visiting citywide.foodbank.bc.ca where, thanks to the Food Bank’s bulk purchasing power, the organization is able to convert each $1 donated to $3 worth of nuthttps://citywide.foodbank.bc.ca/ritious, much needed food for the 28,000 people they serve weekly including children, families and seniors.
“The Greater Vancouver Food Bank is asking the public for their support in donating funds for the Citywide FUND Drive, which will directly help 28,000 people that we serve weekly,” says Cynthia Boulter, Chief Development Officer for the Greater Vancouver Food Bank. “We’ve seen an alarming 24% increase in people accessing our services in the past year. With our purchasing power we can turn your $1 into $3 worth of nutritious food much needed such as our top three purchased items: milk, eggs and baby food”
In addition, as part of the event, volunteers and staff from the GVFB will be on-site at four locations on Saturday, September 21st from 11am-4pm where you can donate $5 or $10 at the till and spin the wheel to win prizes or More Reward Points.
