About Us
The GVFB provides assistance to approximately 15,000 people monthly across Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster and the North Shore. We also provide food support to more than 141 community agencies such as housing agencies, women and children’s shelters, transition homes and after school programs, which in turn provide hot meals and snacks to thousands of people each week, including people who are unhoused.
Our mission is providing healthy food to those in need. Our vision is to create healthy communities through fair and effective food systems. Currently, the GVFB receives, purchases, and distributes 8 M lbs of food each year.
Position Overview
The Agencies Engagement Lead oversees daily Agency Department activities including leading the Agency Application cycle, relationship management through Annual Visits and conflict resolution, supporting the team with a variety of projects and events.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead Agency Engagement Team with execution of daily Agency Department programs for over 118 Agency Partners.
- Lead, plan and organize execution of Bi-Annual Application process.
- Lead communications department project activities such as website updates, social media highlights and ongoing agency department document updates.
- Lead and facilitate execution of Annual Agency Visits with Engagement Team support.
- Support Manager with Agency conflict resolution and policy and agreement accountability.
- Support Agency Coordinators with planning and execution of major projects such as Agency Grants and Agency data collection.
- Plan and support Agency Partner activities and events with Events Team.
- Support Engagement Team with creating and completing objectives.
- Support Agencies Manager with new and existing program development, planning and execution.
- Schedule and maintain Engagement Team meetings and staff one on ones and complete performance reviews.

Qualifications and Experience
- Post-secondary education in social work, humanities, community development, food systems/security or combination of relevant work experience.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Clean BC Class 5 driving license.
Physical Requirements
- Exposure to ambient temperatures and noisy conditions.
- The ability to walk and stand intermittently.
- Bending and lifting boxes up to 50 lbs intermittently.
- Travel to visit Agencies Partners and other food banks.
