CBC Food Bank Day is an Open House and Food Bank Day that CBC/Radio Canada puts on annually. Over the last 36 years that the event has been held, CBC has raised over $18 million for food banks across British Columbia.

On December 1st, British Columbians can either listen on CBC Radio One or stream the event live on CBC Gem to the special programming. Stories about how food banks have impacted their clients will be shared throughout the day.

There is also an opportunity to be a part of a live audience at the CBC Vancouver Broadcast Centre. As there are limited seats available, make sure to register ahead of time here.

In 2022, CBC Day broke our records by raising $2,967,719.26! This year the food banks in B.C. are seeing a rising need for their services, with almost 200,000 visits recorded last year, due to increased cost of living, job loss and inflation. With this increase, food banks are needing more support to continue to support their clients that are in need.

You can donate to Food Banks BC by clicking here.

It’s through your generous donations that food banks are able to provide fresh and nutritious food to those struggling with food insecurity.
