I remember my childhood growing up in Vancouver. We were a poor immigrant family living a grindingly simple and frugal life. At that time, there was no organization like the Greater Vancouver Food Bank we could turn to for help.
At the height of the Covid-19 lockdown, the entire world fell silent. The doors to the shops were locked, the streets deserted and the schools emptied. Everyone was hunkered down at home baking bread and cleaning out the closet. I was still out there as an “essential front line worker” doing my part for the cause. Somehow, I felt I should be doing more to help out.
One morning, the idea of sharing a story for a good cause came across my thoughts. I wrote a novella.
All royalties generated from the sales of this novella will be donated to the GVFB.
The novella is Whistle in the Dark by James Wu. It is available on Amazon.ca. A kindle is not required as you can read it on your computer.
