Food sorting is an important behind the scenes role that helps us ensure the food that our members receive is safe and organized, ready to go out to a distribution site.
During the session, we also provide an orientation to the work that we do here at the Greater Vancouver Food Bank.
Volunteering as a group is a great team-building activity!
Group size: 10 – 25 people
Where: Warehouse, 1150 Raymur Ave
Shift times: 9am – 12pm, 1 – 4pm and 5 – 8pm most days of the week
Commitment: We only ask that you commit to the shift(s) you sign up for
Main tasks: Sorting donated food in our warehouse, assisting with recycling and clean up.
Minimum age: 16 years old with a guardian present, otherwise 19 years old
Must be physically able to: Stand, bend, twist
Our group schedule fills up fast, particularly during October – December, so please book your group in early. We hope to see you soon!
