As we enter the season of giving, the Greater Vancouver Food Bank (GVFB) is proud to be part of a growing number of charities that are making a measurable impact in communities across Canada. Earlier in the year, we were announced as one of the Top 100 charities in Canada , and we’re thrilled to share that GVFB is a Finalist in Charity Intelligence’s 2024 Top 10 Impact Charities List.
Charity Intelligence, a charity research organization, released its list of the Top 10 Impact Charities for 2024, providing Canadian donors with the necessary resource to make informed decisions about where to direct their charitable contributions.
Why Impact Matters
With over $19 billion donated to charities in Canada last year, it’s important to consider how effectively those donations are being used. Charity Intelligence’s analysis focuses on the impact of a charity’s work, measuring how much real change is created for every dollar donated. In fact, charities that focus on measurable outcomes deliver, on average, over 7 dollars of impact for every dollar donated, while most charities see an average return of just $1.50 per dollar. At the GVFB we can extend the purchasing power of every dollar up to 9:1 depending on the food product. 81 Cents of every dollar donated goes directly to our mission.
