We are honoured to announce that we have been selected as one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers!
Now celebrating its 20th year, the Canada’s Top 100 Employers project is a Canada-wide competition to determine which employers lead their industries in offering exceptional workplaces for their employees.
This is a well-known award that has been on our radar. It’s a very proud moment to receive this award because our organization has transformed dramatically over the last few years and this speaks to how we value our employees. This is an incredible recognition of the attractive benefits, culture and work environment we offer our employees, which in turn will help retain employees and attract new talent.
Looking into the future, we will continue to listen to our employees on what is important to them in their workplace. Our annual employee engagement survey is one of the tools we use to capture this information and it will help us make qualitative data-driven decisions to improve our employee’s day to day work lives. We will also continue to raise the bar by maintaining a welcoming and supportive environment and to be an employer of choice.

“It is challenging to run a Food Bank that feeds more than 8,500 people weekly, during a pandemic. But we have made some tough and strategic decisions for our day to day operations, and I’m proud to say that, so far, we have kept the entire team safe and healthy from COVID-19. Our staff’s physical and mental well-being is my priority.” – David Long, CEO
“I’m so lucky to work for an organization who truly cares about my day to day and long-term happiness and success!” – Jeanne Lefebvre, Manager of Community Agencies
“To me, working for Canada’s Top 100 Employer means that I get to work with a great team with a genuine love for the work we do and that compels me to give my best every single day.” – Gaurang Swarge, Data Analyst
“It’s truly an honour to be a part of a great team and supportive culture that is nationally recognized for its excellence. I’m so happy to have joined the GVFB on its journey towards continuously growing and thriving in the nonprofit space!” – Leanna McKnight, Communications Coordinator
