With more people in need year after year, the GVFB has worked over the past four decades to find more efficient ways to provide healthy food to those in need. There was an understanding that if we had more space, particularly to house more refrigeration, we would be able to change how our food bank was operating and take advantage of the food already being produced locally.
In recent years, leadership has pushed forward to achieve this goal and streamlined our operations with innovative moves such as eliminating public food drives in favor of Virtual Food Drives and monthly donations. As we expand, so does our list of industry partners, allowing us to keep consistent in the fresh food we provide to our clients and agencies.
As the GVFB continues to evolve, we expect to see more partnerships, innovation, and sustainable practices that will help us support healthier communities with our services.
