We are thrilled to announce a significant milestone—a new long-term home secured through a 10-year lease at 3454 Lougheed Hwy, Vancouver. After navigating through seven short-term locations since 2020 to sustain our vital food distribution efforts throughout the pandemic, we are finally breathing a sigh of relief as we settle into a more permanent space. The lease at our former location, 295 Terminal Ave., was short-term and had only one year remaining on it, as it is the future location of the new St. Paul’s Hospital Health Campus. After much research and consideration, we are ready to continue serving those in need in Vancouver.

As we embark on our 40th year of operations, the demand for our services in our communities has never been more pressing. Year to date, we’ve witnessed a staggering 28% increase in new clients registering for our support. Simultaneously, the 130+ agencies we support have reported a surge in individuals seeking assistance. With over 60% of our clients and 75% of our agencies situated in Vancouver, it became imperative to locate a space that not only offers easy accessibility but also possesses the capacity for the refrigeration and storage necessary to meet this surging demand.

The new location offers convenient accessibility for different modes of transportation. Situated within a short 6–7 min walk along Central Valley Greenway, it provides ease for those commuting by transit. Additionally, the site has bus stops along East Broadway, including 009, 099, and 027. Free parking is available on Skeena, Cassiar, and Heron Drive for those arriving by car. Clients can safely reach our Lougheed location by utilizing the pedestrian-controlled crosswalk at the corner of Skeena and Lougheed

We want to inform our community that the last day of service at our 295 Terminal location will be September 23rd, and we are eager to commence our operations at the new location on October 3rd

We look forward to welcoming our clients and continuing our mission of serving our community at our new home. This new chapter marks a significant step in our commitment to addressing the increasing needs of those we support.

Those who cannot make it to the new location will be provided with the names of other organizations in the Vancouver area that distribute food to clients, including some from our Community Agency Partner list.
